Why should my drivers attend a Speed Management Workshop?

Driving at unsafe speed remains the highest contributor to road casualties and fatalities in the UK. The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) estimates that up to a third of all road traffic accidents involve someone who is at work at the time.

This interactive workshop encourages drivers to adopt a personal awareness strategy to prevent lapses leading to driving at excessive speed. Drivers will gain an enhanced appreciation of the need to manage speed, recognise posted limits and select a gear appropriate to the prevailing conditions.

We recommend that all Fleet Managers take a proactive approach to managing the risk of their drivers. By investing in the awareness of your organisation’s drivers, you are establishing a far more effective culture of safety throughout the business, alongside a range of benefits including lower fleet costs, reduction in collisions, and greater reputational management.

As somebody who drives for work every day, this course was excellent. I am confident that I will a much better job at maintaining the speed limits. The instructor managed to hit just the right tone for the whole group, ensuring that the course will be clearly remembered, and the whole experience was very informative. I think everybody who drives should attend this interactive course with TTC.

Failing to look properly is a key contributory factor in collisions. We encourage the use of COAST which develops the driver's hazard perception and forward planning skills.

Effective speed management
Remind drivers what the UK speed rules are, how to work out what the limit is when it is not too apparent and the importance of appropriate speed.
