2020… the year that was…

In January 2020 TTC Group issued a white paper centred on ‘transformational change’ – little did they know at the time just how pertinent that theme was going to be for the year ahead.

Without doubt 2020 has been a challenging year both personally and professionally for many. TTC Group has by no means been exempt from this. Yet, the past 12 months have also been filled with opportunity and promise, and TTC Group has made some incredible progress during this time.

One of the most significant developments from TTC Group during 2020 has been the continued advancement of its TTC Continuum platform – the real-time, personalised driver risk management programme.

In September, TTC Group partnered with Collision Management Systems Ltd (CMS) to create a world-first for fleet driver safety whereby CMS’s telematics data aggregation technology combined with TTC’s driver risk management solution via its new Continuum Dynamic Data Engine.

The joint proposition allows fleet operators to connect any existing devices such as connected vehicles, telematics units, mobile apps or connected cameras to the system which then aggregates the information into a standardised format for comparable and consistent insights.

More recently, TTC Group signed a new agreement with The Algorithm People for the integration of its My Transport Planner route optimisation platform within the TTC Continuum – providing users with a business to business (b2b) software as a service (SaaS), pay as you go, web-based transport planning tool.

Another key milestone for the year came in March 2020 when TTC Group acquired Licence Bureau – the UK’s number one supplier of Driver Licence validation services. The strategic acquisition saw TTC Group broaden its corporate fleet customer base and further strengthen its compliance capability.

TTC Group has also evolved its offering to meet the needs of a changing market – most notably working closely with authorities and governing bodies to provide online courses to ensure clients could continue to fulfil their obligations.

Working closely with UK Road Offender Education (UKROEd) and National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) TTC announced the milestone of 100,000 completed virtual speed awareness courses in September.

The development enabled people to complete the virtual speed awareness courses no matter where they were in the world: Texas in the USA; 5960 miles away in Thailand; on private Yachts; and across Europe people enjoyed the new flexibility of virtual training.

This year also saw TTC Group introduce a new Alcohol Education Course to help ease the burden on the UK’s public services sector and support communities faced with alcohol related crime.

The TTC developed course – a first for the UK’s criminal justice system – aligns with the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) ‘Charging and Out of Court Disposals’ two-tier framework national strategy. TTC is currently geared for delivery to circa 10,000 individuals per year, with scope to accommodate more dependent on demand.

In another ‘first’, Licence Bureau – part of the TTC Group, has surpassed the five million Driver Licence check milestone – processing its latest million checks in record time. The UK’s number one provider of Driver Licence validation services hit the four million mark only 14 months ago in September 2019. It’s previous million checks had taken it 20 months to achieve.
