Andy Cox profile

Building on the foundations of a hugely successful challenge in 2021, when Andy Cox, Detective Chief Superintendent for Lincolnshire Police force, raised over £50,000 for RoadPeace, the national charity for road crash victims in the UK.

In 2021 Andy broke the record for the largest amount raised for RoadPeace by an individual fundraiser, so this year Andy is taking his challenge to the next level.

The Challenge: 30 miles a day for 7 days from the 16th to the  22nd of May 2022.

Andy will be doing 30 miles of activity (a walk, a run, a cycle), across the country ‘From Force to Family’.  The routes will start at a Police Station and travel to people affected by road death and injury, who will tell their stories and shed light on the 5 people killed every day on our roads.  Representatives from each of England and Wales’s 43 Police Forces will be out there doing the same. 30 miles for 30 Years.

Andy has chosen the 30-mile figure to honour and celebrate the 30th Anniversary of RoadPeace, which was set up in 1992.

As TTC represents 14 Police Forces, as well as sponsoring the event, a team of 14 volunteers are joining in on the 18th May 2022, where they will take part in a sponsored run, walk or cycle for 14km (8.6 miles) starting from our Head Office in Telford.
