Dramatic 42% reduction in licence points and 52% drop in third-party insurance costs highlight success of proactive risk management.
Leading technology and digital infrastructure company, Telent has cut injury-related incidents amongst its fleet from 4% to 2% of total incidents reported through its partnership with road safety expert, TTC. The communication and technology services company has also seen a 42% reduction in licence points per licence check and speeding endorsements have declined by almost a third (31%).
While enhancing safety remains top priority, at fault third-party insurance costs have been slashed by 52% in the last 3 years too, demonstrating the tangible business benefits of proactive risk management and driver training.
A proactive approach to fleet safety and compliance
Telent runs an 1800-strong mixed fleet including professional drivers and grey fleet drivers with cars, vans and trucks. Safeguarding its drivers has always been a daily focus for Telent, however, striving to continually improve health and safety of its employees, Telent has now moved from standard Licence Checks, to embrace TTC’s complete end-to-end driver risk management solution, Continuum. This has resulted in Telent now boasting a driving licence check compliance rate of 99.4%, meaning its business drivers all have a valid automated licence check through TTC within the last 6 months.
Halving injury-related incidents
Since partnering with TTC, Telent has also implemented several key safety initiatives focused on reducing the risk of speed and improving defensive driving techniques to reduce road risk and severity of incidents. Working with TTC and using its risk management platform has enabled Telent to identify knowledge gaps and areas which require training.

Supporting young, inexperienced, and EV drivers
TTC and Telent are also working in collaboration to manage road risk for young and inexperienced drivers and Electric Vehicle drivers who are unfamiliar with these vehicles. By identifying young drivers, or inexperienced drivers through licence checks and the risks they present, Telent has the ability to offer tailored training and interventions to mitigate risk.
