Outstanding Individual Contribution to the NDORS Scheme and Frontline Hero of the Year
– NDORS go to inspirational TTC individuals
16th October 2023 – Driver and fleet risk management expert, TTC, and the UK’s largest provider of UK Road Offender Education (UKROEd) accredited courses, has won two of the seven road safety and roads policing categories at the 2023 UKROEd awards in Manchester. In recognition of their commitment and dedication to the NDORS industry, Sharon Haynes, Director of Police & Court Referred was awarded Outstanding Individual Contribution to the NDORS Scheme, while Nigel Deans, a member the TTC trainer panel won Frontline Hero of the Year – NDORS.
UKROEd is a private not-for-profit company, which conducts the management and administration of the National Driver Offender Retraining (NDOR) Scheme on behalf of the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC). NDOR Scheme is unique to the UK and was developed as an alternative to penalty points and fines. The UKROEd awards recognise the fundamental roles within UKROEd’s business and highlight individuals who have demonstrated high quality and committed efforts throughout the year. Winners were chosen by a panel of experts and announced at the UKROEd 2022-23 Awards Ceremony at the UKROEd/NPCC Roads Policing National Conference on 11th October 2023.
Sharon Haynes has been with TTC for more than 12 years, dedicated to the management and delivery of NDOR Schemes TTC offers to businesses and individuals. Her voice of experience in the industry is highly respected. Through Sharon’s continual drive and never-ending supply of energy and positivity, she has pioneered TTC’s NDORS capabilities, which today meet the expectations of 15 NDORS contracts. Collaborating closely with each Police Force’s key stakeholders, ranging from Camera Unit, CTO, Enforcement teams, and Procurement leads, Sharon has supported 560,000 police-referred clients in the past 12-months. Paul Jeffrey, Head of Department – Prosecutions and Casualty Prevention Unit, West Yorkshire Police, supported Sharon’s nomination, confirming the value of Sharon’s support for West Yorkshire Police.
Sharon (pictured) said of her win: “I am highly honoured to receive this award and very much accept this as an accolade, not only for me personally, but for my wonderful team at TTC. I have worked in this field for over 12 years now, working with some fantastic people across TTC and the many forces and organisations we work with. NDORS holds a precious place in our hearts, we have passion and drive to save lives on our roads. To be nominated for my contribution to that is humbling. I look forward to my continued work with TTC, our Commissioners, UKROEd and NADIP and let’s see what we can achieve in the next 12 months.”
TTC NDORS trainer, Nigel Deans (pictured), consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that participants receive the best possible education and leave the courses with valuable insights and improved driving behaviours. But his contribution to the NDOR Scheme extends beyond the classroom.
Over the past year, he has taken an active role in the recruitment of new trainers, playing a crucial part in building a skilled and diverse team. His mentorship and development efforts have helped shape the capabilities of NSAC trainers, empowering them to make a lasting difference in the lives of those they educate. Nigel’s dedication to the continuous improvement of the NDOR Scheme is further demonstrated by his active participation in numerous trainer forums. His commitment to the betterment of the program showcases his selflessness and genuine concern for the safety of all road users.
