About the Assessment
The Taxi Driving Assessment is designed for new and existing drivers to demonstrate a safe, smooth, and professional driving standard in line with licensing authority expectations.
It is suitable for new applicants, renewals, council referrals, and wheelchair-accessible assessments.
It includes:
- Pre-checks (licence, eyesight, vehicle suitability).
- A 45–60 minute on-road drive assessing observation, positioning, hazard awareness, and passenger comfort.
- Manoeuvres and safe pick-up/drop-off positioning.
- Verbal and written feedback with a pass/fail outcome.
Preparation should focus on smooth driving, forward planning, strong observation, passenger comfort, and vehicle readiness.

Vehicle requirements:
