Voi Announces Partnership with TTC Group

Voi Technology, the UK and Europe’s leading micromobility company, announces a new partnership with TTC Group, the UK’s foremost road safety education and training company, with over 28 years of experience, educating more than 500,000 road users every year.
Through this partnership with TTC, the UK’s largest driver and rider training provider, TTC will host Voi’s safety training events throughout the country from April 2022. TTC’s educational mission aligns with Voi’s vision to always put safety first in order to create better cities for living.
Voi’s partnership with TTC, an organisation that was founded in 1993 to protect people on the move, is a significant development in Voi’s growth in the UK, where its shared e-scooters and e-bikes are rapidly transforming the sustainable transport sector in urban spaces.
Since Voi launched its e-scooters and e-bikes in 17 towns and cities across the UK, it has prioritised the safety of riders, pedestrians and other road users, organising regular in-person and online safety training, and incentivising and rewarding riders to complete its online traffic school RideLikeVoila - This partnership with TTC is Voi’s next step on its tripart approach to safety through education, operations and technology.
During the rider skills safety training events delivered by TTC, which include both off and on-road practical sessions, Voi will continue to distribute free helmets to participants and give away discounts. While helmet use is currently not mandatory for e-scooter riders in the UK, Voi recommends and incentivises riders to wear one via regular communication with them during in-person, online events and in-app messaging. To date, Voi has given away thousands of free helmets to its riders.
Jack Samler, General Manager at Voi UK and Ireland, said:
“This partnership with TTC takes our rider safety skills training to a new level, with Voi gaining from TTC Group’s decades of experience delivering behavioural change for all road users, and providing TTC with the opportunity to enter a growing new transport sector."
“We look forward to growing our safety visions together, and continuing to offer best practice in responsible micromobility, that puts people first and creates safer and better cities for living.”

Jim Kirkwood TTC Group Chief Executive (pictured):
“We are delighted to be collaborating with Voi to develop and deliver practical rider skills training. This initiative fits well with our vision to protect people on the move regardless of their mode of transport, and our expertise in the provision of road safety training for vulnerable road users."
“Our partnership allows us to explore an exciting new mode of transport and help to shape the future of micromobility rider training.”

TTC is one of only a few organisations accredited to the ISO:39001 Road Traffic Safety Management Systems standard. Similar to Voi, TTC works with the police, local authorities, transport operators and fleet managers to educate drivers and riders. This is a timely partnership, with Voi having just passed its 10 million rides mark since launching in September 2020 in the UK and growing 400% year on year.
E-scooter and e-bike rider skills safety training events run by Voi and TTC will continue to be promoted via this Eventbrite page, where new or existing riders can register to attend, customer emails, in-app messaging and through its own social media channels as well as those of its town and city partners.

About TTC Group
Founded in 1993, having been involved in the original pilot scheme in England for what later became the Drink Drive Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS), we are the UK’s largest and most experienced road safety organisation.
In 2000, we gained approval from UKROEd to develop and deliver National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) courses on behalf of UK police forces, which was a significant step forward for the business. Today we are appointed by 14 UK police forces to deliver the National Speed Awareness retraining.
In 2007, we became TTC Group (UK), having acquired Cycle Experience Limited, one of the UK’s leading and largest cycle training providers and one of the first organisations to become a Bikeability scheme provider on behalf of the Department for Transport (DfT). We also extended our commitment to improving road safety amongst younger, vulnerable road users.
We are the only organisation to be appointed and approved by the Secretary of State to deliver Drink Drive Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS) courses to all UK court areas, with nearly 300 locations throughout England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
In 2016, Jim Kirkwood joined as CEO and under his stewardship, successfully led an investment process which completed in 2017, with TTC Group being acquired by private equity investors Palatine.
During this private equity investment period, TTC Group expanded our business by acquiring Business Driver Ltd and Licence Bureau Ltd, further enhancing our driver training, risk management and compliance capabilities.
Following a highly successful and productive 4-year investment period, in May 2021, TTC proudly announced the successful sale of Palatine’s equity of our organisation, entering into a new and exciting investment deal with Pricoa Private Capital, the private capital business of Prudential Financial.
We continue to grow the business across all of our core markets, helping to make the UK roads safer...
