This interactive workshop covers the legal requirements and responsibilities to carry and secure loads on a vehicle. Drivers will gain a thorough understanding of safe vehicle loads, the consequences of an insecure load, the people responsible for a load in transit and the role of enforcement agencies. ​

Risk is mitigated by enabling drivers to think about the principles of loading, knowing how to competently use restraint equipment and adopting safe methods of securing vehicle loads.

Driver benefits

Load securing equipment
Best practice in load security, straps, curtain-sided vehicles, applying the Belly Wrap and chains.

Enforcement & penalties
How the DVSA enforce the rules, driver responsibilities, infringement categories and additional offences.

Overloaded vehicles
Explore the dangers of overloaded vehicles including loads and weights, projection and overhanging, axle overloads, height rules and weighing in motion sensors (WIMS).
