This interactive workshop explores the distractions drivers are exposed to and identifies solutions to mitigate risks on and off the road. ​Topics include in-vehicle and external distractions, work pressures, the law and penalties and the consequences of driving while distracted. Handsfree and handheld mobile usage is discussed at length in the context of the law and any company policy.

This workshop will allow your company to benefit from reduced collision rates, driver convictions, vehicle repairs and downtime and protect against reputational damage.​

Anybody who is required to complete their Driver CPC hours.

Delivery method

The workshop is facilitated by a professional driver trainer who will fully engage with participants to maximise the learning experience and draw out their views and opinions.

Course outline

Mobile phone usage
Handheld and handsfree calls, company policy on mobile use and multi-tasking and causing and permitting an offence.

Internal distractions
In-vehicle technology, passengers, telematics, warning lights and vehicle sounds, and listening to and changing music.

External distractions
Advertising hoardings, pedestrians, other road users, weather and direction signs.

Driving while distracted
Consequences of a collision, penalties and casualty figures, texting whilst driving and identifying a solution.
