National Standards Cycle Instructors

Contract for self-employed services

We are looking for Nationally Qualified Instructors with a passion and enthusiasm for delivering cycle training to help deliver a range of cycling, scooter and walking courses nationally. If you have the appropriate qualifications and experience, we would be very keen to work with you to help make our roads safer places for children and vulnerable road users, details of which can be found below.

Safe Urban Driving Instructor

Delivering the practical FORS accredited Safe Urban Driving scheme to professional drivers throughout the country in conjunction with Fleet Source, we are looking to work with Instructors nationally who meet the following criteria:

  • National Standard instructor (NSI) qualified – essential
  • Valid First Aid Certificate – essential
  • A full UK Drivers Licence with no more than 3 points. A check of this with the DVLA is required – essential
  • Safe Urban Driving qualification – desirable (we can provide the necessary training)
  • Enhanced DBS – desirable
  • We recommend you have your own Public Liability Insurance cover
  • Must have access to the internet to use our course booking and administration system (full training will be provided)
  • Full day courses attract £140 (NSIQ) and £120 (NSIP) for course delivery and other miscellaneous tasks involved (London Weighting available)

Bikeability

We are looking for enthusiastic instructors capable of developing a rapport with groups of children and adults alike to deliver the national Bikeability training we operate in for schools in the following parts of England and Wales:

  • London Borough of Harrow
  • Thames Valley corridor – Slough, Windsor &
  • Maidenhead, Bracknell and Wokingham
  • North West – Cheshire West & Chester, Halton and Wigan
  • South Yorkshire –Rotherham
  • North East – Northumberland and Gateshead
  • North Wales – Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire
  • South Wales – Swansea and Carmarthenshire

You will need the following:

  • Must have successfully completed the national 4-day Instructor Training Course. Provisionally Qualified (NSIP) instructors are welcome to apply as equally as NSIQs – essential
  • Hold a current enhanced DBS and ideally registered on the Update Service – essential
    Hold a certificate for Safeguarding training – essential
  • Have completed a Emergency First Aid course in the last 3 years – desirable
  • We recommend you have your own Public Liability Insurance cover
  • Must have access to the internet in order to access our course booking and administration system (full training will be provided)
  • Full day courses attract £80 (NSIQ) or £60 (NSIP) for course delivery and other miscellaneous tasks involved (London Weighting available)
  • If you do not have a current DBS check or safeguarding training or it has expired, we are able to provide these for you. Details and costs involved can be provided by contacting us

All new instructors are required to purchase a branded TTC uniform before delivery. This £50 cost is an allowance for tax purposes and you will get tax relief against the payment for the uniform when you submit your company accounts or your tax returns.
